St. Jude Half Marathon - 2011

Another brilliant idea by yours truly. I giggle when I see those marathon t-shirts that read "It sounded like a good idea 4 months ago." So very true! But .... it brings friends from near and far together for a good cause. For a GREAT cause. We have something to worry, bitch, moan and complain about for weeks leading up to the marathon. And when it is over, it gives us crazy bad blisters, road rash, sore muscles a strong sense of accomplishment!

I'm not sure why this picture cracks me up. I swear they were having a blast! The Hammer kids and the Thurman kids never have a bad time when they are together. Maybe the scared look on their face is my driving. Or maybe because I'm driving AND taking their picture in rush hour traffic in downtown Memphis. We are on our way to pick up our race packets!

Penney Lane before the race. She is officially crazier then she has ever been. Check out her bib - it says MARATHON. Not only did she finish with a great time, her make-up looked untouched after 26.2 miles!

Thankfully he crossed the finish line on foot (not by stretcher). I must admit, every time I heard ambulance sirens I would feel like someone kicked me in the gut.

My long distance training buddy Paige. By long distance I mean we made each other accountable while preparing for the half marathon by calling and texting after every workout. Very proud of her and all my crazy peeps!

Only 346 days until we do it all over again!!!!!!
