Cheers to the last year you will "like" me for about 8 years … maybe 7. I will treasure every moment. So many changes are coming for you - your body, your mind, your attitude, your outlook on life, your dreams, your ambitions, your modesty (of lack of), your taste in everything. Some of these changes will be temporary and some of them permanent. I plan on embracing it instead of fearing it. I'm ready to stand by your side while you tackle this life altering phase called puberty. I don't scare easily but I'm fairly sensitive so if you see me shedding a tear or two, it will only be a momentarily lapse in weakness. You are strong. I am strong. We can do this!
Until then, just remain the little girls you are who are obsessed with slime, sports (mostly volleyball and tennis for right now), your girlfriends, your big tree swing, The Greatest Showman soundtrack, anything and everything creative with your twin bffs, putting on shows while making movies, sleepovers, Escape Rooms, your new golf cart and snow cones.
You are PERFECT … just the way you are.
